What kids do

“Your brain says things to you. Swap the unhelpful ones for helpful ones!”

  1. Unhelpful thought ➜ helpful thought
  2. Draw your brain saying a helpful thought
  3. A thought I want to swap this week:

How to run it

  • Model one first: “I can’t draw hands” ➜ “Hands are tricky, I’ll practice.”
  • Helpful doesn’t mean fake-happy; it means kind and true.
  • Post the best swaps on the wall.

Talk about it

  • Where do unhelpful thoughts come from?
  • How do you feel after a swap?
  • What would you say to a friend who said that?

Take it further

Catch yourself thinking an unhelpful thought tomorrow and swap it.
