What kids do

“Feelings change like the weather. What is the weather inside you today?”

  1. My weather today
  2. Draw your feelings weather (you can be in it too)
  3. How strong is it?
  4. What could change my forecast? Who could help?

How to run it

  • Use it as a morning check-in or after recess.
  • Model your own forecast first: “I’m partly cloudy because…”
  • Keep sheets private unless a child wants to share.

Talk about it

  • Can two kinds of weather happen at once?
  • What helps a rainy day turn sunny?
  • How can we tell what weather a friend is having?

Take it further

Keep a week of forecasts and look for patterns on Friday.
