Easy dinosaur drawings for kids

How to draw dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are the drawing kids ask for most. These cartoon dinosaurs start with one big body shape, then the neck, tail, legs and spikes go on, so even a long-necked brachiosaurus fits in a few steps. When the cartoon herd is done, try the robot dinosaurs.

Questions about drawing dinosaurs

What is the easiest dinosaur to draw?

A stegosaurus or a baby dinosaur. Both are one round body with short legs, and the plates or spots go on last. A T-Rex is a good second try.

How do you draw a dinosaur step by step?

Draw the body as a big oval, add the head and neck, then the tail, then the legs. Finish with the face, spikes, plates or horns. Each lesson above does it in about six steps.

How do you draw a T-Rex for kids?

Give it a big head with a wide mouth, a chunky body leaning forward, strong back legs, a thick tail and two tiny arms. The tiny arms are what make it look like a T-Rex.

Which books have dinosaurs to draw?

Cartoon Dinosaurs and Robot Dinosaurs, each as How to Draw, Trace Then Color and Draw by Grid books.

Are the dinosaur drawing pages free?

Yes. Every lesson, printable and video on this page is free for home and classroom use.
