What kids do

“Waiting is hard! What can you do to make the time go faster?”

  1. Something I find hard to wait for
  2. Waiting makes me feel:
  3. Things I can do while I wait:
  4. Next time I have to wait, I will…

How to run it

  • Practice with a short real wait: one minute before a fun thing.
  • Model your own waiting tricks out loud.
  • Point it out when a child waits well.

Talk about it

  • What’s the longest you’ve ever waited?
  • Does waiting get easier when you’re busy?
  • What do grown-ups have to wait for?

Take it further

Make a tiny “waiting kit” card to keep in your pocket.
