What kids do

“Design the perfect spot to calm down and feel better.”

  1. Draw your calm corner (label the things in it)
  2. Things to put in it:
  3. Calm corner rules
  4. I would use it when…

How to run it

  • If you already have a calm corner, let kids suggest upgrades.
  • Vote on the best ideas and add one for real.
  • Talk about it as a helping spot, not a time-out.

Talk about it

  • What colors feel calm?
  • How long should someone stay?
  • What would make it feel safe?

Take it further

Make one feelings card for the calm corner.
