What kids do

“Draw it with your usual hand. Now switch hands and try again!”

  2. My other hand

  4. Something I like about the other-hand drawing is…

How to run it

  • Pick something simple to draw: a cat, a house or a cup.
  • Laugh together at the wobbly ones. That is the point!
  • Point out that wobbly lines can look lively and fun.

Talk about it

  • Why do you think the other hand is harder?
  • What would get easier with practice?
  • Do mistakes make a drawing worse or more interesting?

Take it further

Practice your other hand for one minute a day for a week, then draw it again.
