What kids do

“Lines are everywhere! Draw a different kind of line in each box and give it a name.”

  1. Draw one kind of line in each card
  2. Where did you spot these lines in the room?

How to run it

  • Warm up by drawing lines in the air together: zigzag, wavy, loopy.
  • Younger kids can name lines with their own words, like “bumpy” or “jumpy”.
  • Then walk the room and point to real lines.

Talk about it

  • Which line looks fast? Which looks calm?
  • Which line was hardest to draw?
  • Can a line show a feeling?

Take it further

Make a whole picture using only your three favorite lines.
