What kids do

“Start with red, yellow and blue. Can you mix the rest?”

  1. Color each slice. Mix the ones in between!
  2. My color recipes

How to run it

  • Paint, crayons layered on top of each other or colored pencils all work.
  • Mix the light color first and add the dark color a little at a time.
  • Older kids can add the six in-between colors on the back.

Talk about it

  • Which mix surprised you?
  • What happens if you mix all three?
  • Why do you think orange sits between red and yellow?

Take it further

Paint a picture using only the colors you mixed yourself.
