What kids do

“Pick a story you know. Now let someone else tell it!”

  1. The story: … New narrator:
  2. My new narrator
  3. What they saw that nobody else noticed:
  4. Start the story in their voice: “I was there the whole time…”

How to run it

  • Use a class read-aloud or a fairy tale everyone knows.
  • Background characters see things the hero doesn’t.
  • Use “I” to write in the narrator’s voice.

Talk about it

  • How did the story change?
  • What did your narrator care about?
  • Who would be the funniest narrator?
