What kids do

“What would two characters text each other? Write the chat!”

  1. The chat
  2. Who is texting, and what just happened?
  3. What their texts show about them:

How to run it

  • Pick two characters from a book you’re reading.
  • Each text bubble goes on the left or right, like a real phone.
  • Emoji can show feelings.

Talk about it

  • How does each character talk differently?
  • What did they not say?
  • What would they text next?

Take it further

Turn the chat into a scene with “said” and quotation marks.
