What kids do

“Our devices help us learn. Read the do and don’t lists, add one of your own, then sign your promise.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Carry it with two hands.
  2. Use only the sites and apps our teacher says.
  3. Keep food and drinks far away.
  4. Tell a grown-up if you see something that worries you.
  5. Plug it in to charge at the end of the day.
  6. Share your password, even with a friend.
  7. Change another person’s work or settings.
  8. Download games or apps.

Teacher tip

Have kids practice carrying and charging devices before they use them for the first time.

How to use it

  • Act out examples of following and not following each expectation.
  • Revisit expectations after long breaks and before special days.
  • Fill one in with the class the first time so kids see what a finished one looks like.

Watch for

Expectations that look different at home. Talk about how rules change by place.

Talk about it

  • How do rules help everyone learn?
  • What is one thing that went well this week?
