What kids do

“Students connect today’s learning to their own life, another subject or the world.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. This connects to…
  2. How it connects:

Teacher tip

Share a few strong connections the next day to show what deep thinking looks like.

How to use it

  • Sort the tickets into piles to plan tomorrow’s small groups.
  • Collect tickets at the door as kids leave or line up.
  • Keep a stack of copies in a labeled tray so you can grab one without stopping the lesson.

Watch for

Kids copying a neighbor. Spread out or give two different questions.

Talk about it

  • What are you still wondering about?
  • How can this help you be ready to learn?

Take it further

Use the same ticket a week later to check for growth.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
