What kids do

“Four tickets on a page. Circle how well you understand today’s lesson, from 0 (not yet) to 5 (I could teach it).”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Today I learned to:
  2. I’m still wondering…

Teacher tip

Have kids show their fist-to-five on their hand first, then circle it on the ticket.

How to use it

  • Sort the tickets into piles to plan tomorrow’s small groups.
  • Collect tickets at the door as kids leave or line up.
  • Slide it into a sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker to reuse it all year.

Watch for

Kids copying a neighbor. Spread out or give two different questions.

Talk about it

  • What is one thing you learned today?
  • Why do you think we use this in our classroom?

Take it further

Use the same ticket a week later to check for growth.
