What kids do

“Six boxes for a bigger adventure. Make it loud with sound effects!”

  1. Sound effects

How to run it

  • Sketch tiny stick figures in every panel first, then go back and draw properly.
  • Give the big moment its own panel.
  • Sound effects go in big, bold letters right inside the picture.

Talk about it

  • Which panel is the most exciting? How did you show it?
  • What sound effect would your own house make at night?
  • Where did your story slow down or speed up?

Take it further

Make up three new sound effects and add them to the class word wall.

Draw first, then write

Free for home and classroom use. Print as many copies as you need.
