What kids do

“Speech bubbles show what characters say. Fill them in!”

  1. Draw what happens next.
  2. My comic is called:

How to run it

  • Point out the tail on each bubble: it shows who is talking.
  • Words in bubbles can be short: “Hi!”, “Look!”, “Uh-oh.”
  • Pre-writers can draw a picture inside the bubble instead of words.

Talk about it

  • How do you know who is talking?
  • What would the bird say if it was grumpy?
  • What is the funniest thing they could say?

Take it further

Act the comic out with a partner, one of you is the dog and one is the bird.
