What kids do

“Every story starts with somebody. Draw your somebody!”

  1. Draw your character. Make it big!
  2. All about my character

How to run it

  • Read the labels aloud before kids start, so they know what is coming.
  • Pre-writers can say the answers while you write them in.
  • Silly answers are good answers: a superpower can be “very loud sneezes.”

Talk about it

  • What would your character do on a rainy day?
  • Who would be your character’s best friend?
  • What is one thing your character is scared of?

Take it further

Put two kids’ characters together and ask: what happens when they meet?
