What kids do

“Three boxes, one whole story. Start, uh-oh, and the end!”

  1. Comic title:
  2. One day…
  3. Suddenly…
  4. In the end…
  5. Tell the whole story in one sentence:

How to run it

  • Plan out loud first: who is it about, what goes wrong, how does it end?
  • Draw first, then write the caption under each panel.
  • Use the comic story starter on the Story Studio page for a ready-made beginning.

Talk about it

  • Which panel was hardest? Why?
  • What word tells the reader something changed?
  • Could the ending be a surprise?

Take it further

Add a fourth panel: what happened the next day?

Draw first, then write
