What kids do

“X marks the spot! Draw the map and write the clues.”

  1. My treasure map
  2. Clues
  3. The treasure is… and it was hidden by…

How to run it

  • Add landmarks: a cave, a bridge, a giant tree.
  • Clues use direction words: north, past, under, beside.
  • Swap maps and follow a partner’s clues.

Talk about it

  • What is the hardest part of the journey?
  • Who hid the treasure? Why?
  • Is the treasure gold or something better?

Take it further

Hide a real “treasure” in the classroom and make a map to it.
