What kids do

“Stretch the truth as far as it will go!”

  1. Stretch each one
  2. Draw your biggest stretch
  3. A tiny tall tale about me:

How to run it

  • Start with the frame “I was so… that…”.
  • Read a classic tall tale for inspiration.
  • The sillier the picture, the better it works.

Talk about it

  • Why do people exaggerate?
  • When is exaggerating not okay?
  • Which stretch made the class laugh hardest?

Take it further

Write a whole tall tale about a giant animal.
