What kids do

“This robot lost half of itself! Draw the other side so it matches.”

  1. Finish the robot: make the right side match the left
  2. Symmetrical things I can find in the room
  3. Symmetrical means…

How to run it

  • Fold a paper butterfly to show what a line of symmetry is.
  • Draw light first, then go over it when both sides match.
  • Small hand mirrors on the dashed line let kids check.

Talk about it

  • Which parts were easiest to mirror?
  • Is your face perfectly symmetrical?
  • Where do you see symmetry in nature?

Take it further

Draw half of your own robot for a partner to finish.
