What kids do

“People live in all kinds of homes. Research and draw four!”

  1. Four homes
  2. Homes are different because…

How to run it

  • Use nonfiction books or a few photos: apartments, stilt houses, houseboats, adobe homes.
  • Focus on how homes fit the weather and land.
  • Avoid “weird”: every home makes sense where it is.

Talk about it

  • Why would someone build on stilts?
  • Which home would you like to visit?
  • What do all homes do?

Take it further

Design a home for a place with very hot days and very cold nights.
