What kids do

“A brand-new year! Look back, then look ahead.”

  1. My best moment last year
  2. Something I learned last year:
  3. This year I will learn…
  4. This year I will try…
  5. This year I will do…
  6. My word for the new year:

How to run it

  • Use the first week back after winter break.
  • Goals can be fun ones: try sushi, learn a card trick.
  • Keep the sheets and return them in June.

Talk about it

  • What’s one thing you’re proud of from last year?
  • Which goal will be the hardest?
  • How will you remember your word?

Take it further

Make a small sign with your word for the year.
