What kids do

“Write some fortunes. Then pick one and turn it into a story!”

  1. Write a fortune in each slip, then cut them out
  2. The fortune I picked, and the story it started:

How to run it

  • Fortunes: “A surprise is coming,” “Beware of tall hats.”
  • Fold slips and draw one from a bowl.
  • Stories should make the fortune come true.

Talk about it

  • Which fortune made the best story?
  • Do you believe fortunes?
  • Which was the funniest?

Take it further

Make a paper fortune teller.
