What kids do

“You’re in charge of the show! Draw each firework in order.”

  1. My show, in order
  2. The sound each one makes (BOOM! crackle! whee!):

How to run it

  • Black paper and chalk make bright fireworks.
  • Save the biggest one for the finale.
  • Talk about firework safety and pets who dislike the noise.

Talk about it

  • Why save the best for last?
  • Which words describe the sounds?
  • What celebrations have fireworks?

Take it further

Plan a quiet light show that pets would like.
