What kids do

“Design your dream room, seen from above like a map!”

  1. My bedroom from above (one square = one foot)
  2. Key (what the symbols mean)
  3. The best feature is…

How to run it

  • Show what a bed looks like from above: a rectangle with a pillow.
  • Make a key with symbols for each thing.
  • Older kids can measure their real room first.

Talk about it

  • What would you do first in your dream room?
  • What could you really add at home?
  • How is a floor plan like a map?

Take it further

Measure your real room and draw it to scale.
