What kids do

“Chef, you are cooking up a monster today. Write the recipe!”

  1. Ingredients (with amounts!)
  2. What came out of the oven
  3. Steps
  4. Monster name:
  5. How spicy is it?

How to run it

  • Show a real recipe card so kids see amounts and steps.
  • Older kids can use fractions: ½ cup of slime, ¾ of a pickle.
  • Steps should start with action words: mix, stir, bake, decorate.

Talk about it

  • Could someone else follow your steps?
  • Which step is the most important?
  • What happens if you double the recipe?

Take it further

Swap recipes and draw the monster someone else’s recipe makes.
