What kids do

“Your hand is the model that’s always with you!”

  1. 1. Trace your hand
  2. 2. Waving
  3. 3. A fist
  4. 4. Pointing
  5. 5. Turn a hand into a creature
  6. The trickiest pose was…

How to run it

  • Draw with the other hand posing (lefties and righties swap).
  • Start with simple shapes: a mitten for the palm, sausages for fingers.
  • Count fingers! It’s easy to draw six.

Talk about it

  • Which pose looked most real?
  • Why are hands hard to draw?
  • What did the creature hand become?

Take it further

Draw a grown-up’s hand and compare it to yours.
