What kids do

“Close your eyes and listen. What do the sounds look like?”

  1. Song 1
  2. Song 2
  3. Song 3
  4. I used…
  5. My favorite song looked like… because…

How to run it

  • Pick three very different songs: fast, slow and loud.
  • No pictures of things, only lines, shapes and colors.
  • Play each song for about a minute while kids draw.

Talk about it

  • Did fast music make fast lines?
  • Could someone guess which drawing went with which song?
  • What color is a drum?

Take it further

Draw a song of your own choice and play it for the class.
