A partner game: one describes a secret monster, the other draws it. Then compare!

What kids do

“Partner A describes a secret monster. Partner B draws it without peeking!”

  1. Partner A: my secret monster (hide this!)
  2. Partner B: what I heard
  3. Words that helped (size, shape, where things go):
  4. What got mixed up, and why?

How to run it

  • Fold the sheet down the middle so partners can’t see each other’s side.
  • Allow describing only, no pointing or gestures.
  • Swap roles with a new monster.

Talk about it

  • Which words worked best?
  • Why is “on top of” better than “there”?
  • How is this like giving directions?

Take it further

Try it with a real object or one of the drawing lessons.
