What kids do

“Ready, set, hunt! Find things of every color.”

  1. Write or draw what you find
  2. My most surprising find
  3. The hardest color to find was… because…

How to run it

  • Kids color the first box in each row before they start: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.
  • Set a time limit and a boundary.
  • Younger kids draw instead of writing.

Talk about it

  • Which color is everywhere? Which is rare?
  • Why do you think that is?
  • What color is nature’s favorite where we live?

Take it further

Make a rainbow collage from scraps of the colors you found.
