What kids do

“You are the expert now! Write a how-to guide for your job so the next helper knows exactly what to do.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. How to do it, step by step
  2. Tips and tricks
  3. Draw the tools you use

Teacher tip

Give kids time to teach the next helper on the day jobs rotate.

How to use it

  • Introduce each job and model it before kids take it on.
  • Rotate jobs on the same day each week so everyone gets a turn.
  • Slide it into a sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker to reuse it all year.

Watch for

The same kids getting the favorite jobs. Use a fair rotation.

Talk about it

  • How do class jobs help our classroom?
  • How can this help you be ready to learn?

Take it further

Add a new job when the class finds a need, like a tech helper.
