What kids do

“Write a name for each clean-up job. Check the box when it is done, then draw our clean room!”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Pick up scraps on the floor
  2. Put markers and crayons away
  3. Wipe the tables
  4. Push in the chairs
  5. Straighten the library
  6. Close the glue sticks
  7. Water the plants
  8. Tidy the cubbies

Teacher tip

Play a clean-up song and see if the crew can finish before it ends.

How to use it

  • Introduce each job and model it before kids take it on.
  • Rotate jobs on the same day each week so everyone gets a turn.
  • Fill one in with the class the first time so kids see what a finished one looks like.

Watch for

The same kids getting the favorite jobs. Use a fair rotation.

Talk about it

  • Which job would you like to try? Why?
  • Why do you think we use this in our classroom?

Take it further

Add a new job when the class finds a need, like a tech helper.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
