What kids do

“Think about this week’s morning meetings. Color the face that fits each skill, then set one goal.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. At morning meeting I…
  2. Next week, I want to get better at…

Teacher tip

Have kids pick one skill to work on next week and check back on Friday.

How to use it

  • Sit in a circle so everyone can see each other’s faces.
  • Keep it short: 15 to 20 minutes works for most classes.
  • Print it on colored paper so kids and helpers can spot it quickly.

Watch for

Kids who do not want to share. Let them pass and come back later.

Talk about it

  • What did you learn about a classmate today?
  • How can this help you be ready to learn?

Take it further

Let kids take turns leading parts of the meeting.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
