What kids do

“Every choice leads somewhere. For each situation, write what might happen, then a choice that would turn out better.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Copying a friend’s homework
  2. Talking while the teacher
  3. Taking a pencil from someone’s desk
  4. Saying a mean word to a
  5. Think of a good choice you made this week. What happened because of it?

Teacher tip

Talk through one situation together before kids work on their own.

How to use it

  • Focus on the plan for next time, not on the mistake.
  • Use a calm, neutral voice so the sheet feels like help, not punishment.
  • Keep a stack of copies in a labeled tray so you can grab one without stopping the lesson.

Watch for

Reflection sheets used too often. If a student needs one daily, look for a bigger need.

Talk about it

  • Who can help you with your plan?
  • What is one thing that went well this week?

Take it further
