Fairy and princess activities for kids

Castles, crowns, wings and wands: fairy and princess activities for drawing, crafting and pretend play.

By Kevin Coulston, cartoonist and author of the FirstArtBooks drawing books

Fairy and princess activities combine drawing with pretend play: draw fairies and princesses, design outfits and castles, make crowns and fairy houses, then invent a fairy tale. These themes are beloved by many kids and work for drawing, crafts and storytelling at home or in class.

  1. A fairy. A simple body, a flowing dress, big wings and a wand.
  2. A princess (or prince). A crown, a royal outfit, a friendly face.
  3. A castle. Towers are rectangles with triangle roofs; add flags and a drawbridge.
  4. A fairy house. A mushroom house with a tiny door and windows.
  5. A royal pet. A unicorn, a dragon or a fancy cat.
  6. A ball. A party scene with music and dancing.
