What kids do

“These sneakers can do something amazing. Design them!”

  1. Draw your sneaker from the side. Label its special parts.
  2. Name:
  3. Special power:
  4. Write the ad: why should kids want them?

How to run it

  • Look at the bottom and side of a real sneaker first.
  • Powers can be silly: bouncier jumps, never-untied laces, glow-in-the-dark.
  • Present the ads like a TV commercial.

Talk about it

  • Who would wear your sneaker?
  • What words make an ad exciting?
  • What do real shoe designers think about?

Take it further

Design a matching sneaker for a pet or a monster.
