What kids do

“Design a garden for the whole neighborhood to share!”

  1. Garden map: beds, paths, water and a bench
  2. What we’ll grow
  3. Who helps?
  4. Our garden rules:

How to run it

  • Visit or look at photos of a community garden.
  • Think about who uses it: kids, older people, people in wheelchairs.
  • Plant a few seeds in cups as a mini version.

Talk about it

  • What makes sharing a garden tricky?
  • What would you do with extra food?
  • Who in our town could help?

Take it further

Draw a sign welcoming people to the garden.
