What kids do

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Circle the letter of the kind thing to do.
  2. 1. A classmate drops a stack of books in the hall.
  3. 2. A new student doesn’t know where the lunchroom is.
  4. 3. Your friend forgot a snack and looks hungry.

Teacher tip

Talk about the teasing moment carefully: being an upstander is brave.

How to use it

  • Read a short kindness story aloud before the sheet.
  • Ask kids to name a kind thing someone did for them this week.
  • Keep finished sheets in an SEL folder so kids can look back on their growth.

Watch for

Kindness that is only for friends. Talk about being kind to people we don’t know well too.

Talk about it

  • What is a kind thing you could do right now?
  • Have you ever been in a moment like this? What happened?
