What kids do

“At the end of each quarter, look back at your goals. Write how you did and set a new goal.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Looking back, the goal I am proudest of is… because…

Teacher tip

Have kids add a piece of work as evidence for each quarter.

How to use it

  • Keep trackers in a data folder kids can reach on their own.
  • Celebrate progress, not just finished goals.
  • Introduce the sheet once, model it, then make it part of a routine so kids know what to expect.

Watch for

Goals that are too big. Break them into steps that can be reached in a week or two.

Talk about it

  • What goal are you working on?
  • Why do you think we use this in our classroom?

Take it further

Set a class goal that everyone works toward together.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
