What kids do

“Look around the room and the school. Check the box when you find each one.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. Draw the biggest number you found.

Teacher tip

Point out a few numbers in the room first, like the clock and the calendar.

How to use it

  • Set clear boundaries for where kids can look.
  • Give a time limit and a signal for when to come back.
  • Model the first move or the first answer on the document camera.

Watch for

Kids who rush and do not look closely. Ask them to tell you about one find.

Talk about it

  • Which item was the hardest to find?
  • What would you change to make it harder?

Take it further

Send it home as a family hunt for the weekend.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
