What kids do

“Cut out the cards. Play memory: a match is a dice picture and the number of dots on it.”

Printed on the sheet:

  1. How to play: cut out the cards and mix them up face down. Take turns flipping two. A match? Keep it and go again. The player with the most pairs wins.

Teacher tip

Have kids say the number without counting as they get faster.

How to use it

  • Store each set in a labeled bag or envelope.
  • Start with fewer cards for younger players.
  • Keep a few copies in an early finisher bin so they are always ready.

Watch for

Kids who do not wait their turn. Practice the routine first.

Talk about it

  • What strategy would you use next time?
  • What was the trickiest part? How did you get past it?

Take it further

Play it as a quick whole-class game on the board.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
