Teacher tip

Keep a few copies at a center for indoor recess.

How to use it

  • Pair kids with someone they don’t usually work with.
  • Practice friendly phrases out loud before kids write them.
  • Let kids choose to share or keep their answers private. Both are fine.

Watch for

Kids who are often left out. Use these sheets to build in partners on purpose.

Talk about it

  • How do you join a game that has already started?
  • Have you ever been in a moment like this? What happened?

Take it further

Hold a “buddy of the week” where partners eat lunch or do a job together.

US Letter, prints well in black and white. Free for home and classroom use: print as many copies as you need.
