Words on this sheet

madratplanfinriddim

Teacher tip

Plan to plane is a fun change. Read each pair aloud.

How to use it

  • Read the words out loud and listen for the vowel saying its name.
  • Use a vowel team anchor chart while kids work.
  • Use it in a small reading group so you can hear each child sound out a few words.

Watch for

Kids who add an e to every word. Ask them to read the word both ways.

Talk about it

  • How do you know this vowel is long?
  • What sound does this letter or letter team make?

Take it further

Make a vowel team poster with words kids find in their reading.
