Questions about fan art

Is it OK for kids to draw Mario characters?

Yes. Copying favorite characters is how many cartoonists learned to draw. Fan art is great practice; just don’t sell drawings of characters Nintendo owns.

How do kids follow a Mario characters drawing video?

Pause the video after each step and copy just that part. Most characters start with a head shape and guide lines, then the eyes, then the details.

Are these official tutorials?

No. They are unofficial fan art lessons by Kevin Coulston and are not connected to Nintendo.

What age are the Mario characters lessons for?

Kids about 6 and up can follow the videos by pausing after each step. Younger kids do well drawing alongside a grown-up.

Where are more fan art lessons?

The fan art page has every series in one place: the Ninja Turtles, Mario characters, Pokémon and Dog Man.
