What kids do

“You can’t do it… YET! Write the steps that will get you there.”

  1. Something I can’t do yet:
  2. My steps (start at the bottom)
  3. Draw yourself at the top!
  4. Who or what can help me?

How to run it

  • Model with a drawing goal: “I can’t draw hands yet.”
  • Each rung should be small and doable this week.
  • Revisit the ladder in two weeks and color the rungs that are done.

Talk about it

  • What changes when you add the word “yet”?
  • Which step is the scariest? Why?
  • What is something you couldn’t do last year but can now?

Take it further

Add a sticker or a star to each rung as it’s finished.
