Trace the Numbers 21 to 30
The twenties in rows: trace three, then write two on your own. Two tens and some more on every line.
A 10 by 10 grid of the numbers 1 to 5. Color each square to the key and a picture appears.
“Read the number in each square. Color it the color in the key. What do you see?”
Don’t tell kids what the picture is. The reveal keeps them checking the key on every square.
Reversals of 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9 are normal at this age. Point to the start dot and model again rather than marking it wrong.
Hunt for numbers in a picture book, on a calendar or on the classroom clock and tally how many you find.
