What kids do

“Help the corgi find the way. Draw a line from Start to Finish without crossing a wall.”

Teacher tip

Give younger kids a thick crayon. The wide paths leave lots of room.

How to use it

  • Show kids how to work backward from the end when they get stuck.
  • Use mazes as a calm, quiet activity after a busy part of the day.
  • Use it as a center, an early finisher choice, an indoor recess activity or a sub day page.

Watch for

Frustration with big mazes. Offer a smaller maze first.

Talk about it

  • What did you do when you hit a dead end?
  • What would you change to make it harder?

Take it further

Time a second try to see if kids get faster.
