A Cute Turtle Tracing Page to Print and Color
A little bow, a big spotted shell, and a smile that looks ready for an adventure. Today I’m sharing a free cute turtle tracing page from Trace Then Color: Fairies, Princesses, and Other Cute Stuff. This friendly little turtle is one of the original characters I drew for the book, and you can download the page below to try at home.
The dotted lines give young artists a starting point. Trace the turtle’s outline, follow the circles on its shell, and add some color when you’re ready. Green is welcome, but so are pink feet, a purple shell, or a bow with every color in the pencil box.

Trace First. Then Make It Yours.
There’s more to this little turtle than its shell. The rounded feet, cheerful eyes, and small bow give kids several different shapes to follow. Take your time with the curves, turn the paper if that helps, and don’t worry about making every line perfect.
After tracing, the page becomes a coloring activity. Try a different color for each shell spot, give the bow a favorite pattern, or color the hearts around the edge to match. Crayons, colored pencils, or washable markers can all be part of the fun; choose what works best with your paper and the artist using it.
Want to keep going? Draw a flower for the turtle to visit, invent a name, or tell a short story about where it’s heading. The printed character provides a beginning, while the finishing touches belong to the person holding the pencil.
More Cute Characters to Trace and Color
This free turtle page comes directly from Trace Then Color: Fairies, Princesses, and Other Cute Stuff. As the title suggests, the book makes room for fairy-tale favorites and other sweet cartoon subjects—including this bow-wearing turtle.
The book contains 50 characters to trace and color and is intended for ages 3 and up. Each character offers a supplied outline to follow before the artist chooses colors and adds a personal finish. Some children will want a little help getting started; others will be happy to settle in and work at their own pace.

A Small Creative Break, with Plenty More to Explore
The Trace Then Color series pairs tracing practice with the freedom to color original cartoon characters. Following the lines gives children a chance to practice pencil control and hand-eye coordination without having to invent the whole drawing first.
Print this cute turtle tracing page for a quiet afternoon, an art-table break, or a little creative time together. Keep the activity relaxed: finishing the whole page in one sitting is optional, and unexpected color choices are part of the fun.
If the turtle is a hit, explore the other Trace Then Color books or choose another character from the free activity page collection. There’s always room for one more idea.
