Ask kids to touch and count each letter before they sort.
How to use it
- Use it in a literacy center with a partner who checks the reading.
- Play it again later in the week with a different partner. Repeat play builds speed.
- Keep a sight word ring of flash cards so kids can check spellings.

Kids who guess from the first letter. Ask them to look at the whole word, all the way to the end.

- Which words look alike? How do you tell them apart?
- Which word was the hardest to read? Why?

Ask kids to use two of the words in one sentence and draw it.
