Learn to Draw Fun Characters in How to Draw: Cool Stuff 2
I’m excited to share that my newest drawing book, How to Draw: Cool Stuff 2, is finally here! This is the sequel to one of my most popular titles and a book that many of you have been asking for ever since the first Cool Stuff came out. Whether you’re new to my books or have been collecting them for a while, you’re going to love this one. It’s bigger, bolder, and packed with more fun characters to draw.
If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to draw cool stuff, this book is for you. I’ve taken some of the most popular themes from my other titles and put them all together in one mega collection. From silly cartoon people and cute animals to funky robots and fierce dinosaurs, there’s something in this book for everyone.
A Sequel Worth the Wait
The original How to Draw: Cool Stuff was designed to be an introduction to some of the most loved characters across my book series. It quickly became one of my best-selling books, and readers loved the variety of styles and themes all packed into one place. So when it came time to create a sequel, I knew I wanted to make it even better.
In How to Draw: Cool Stuff 2, I’ve included 50 brand-new step-by-step drawing pages that show kids exactly how to draw cool stuff in a fun and frustration-free way. Each drawing is broken down into six simple steps, just like always. These pages are made to be easy enough for beginners but still interesting and fun for more experienced young artists.
Some of the cool stuff you’ll get to draw in this book includes:
- Silly Cartoon Faces
- Cute but Cool Dinosaurs
- Electrically Fun Robots
- Adorable Animals
- Weirdly Fun Creatures
Whether your child is into sci-fi, fantasy, animals, or silly cartoon faces, there’s something in here that will grab their attention and get their pencil moving.

Why Kids Love to Draw Cool Stuff
Every time I release a new book, I hear the same thing from parents and teachers: kids love having the freedom to draw from different themes. One day they’re into dinosaurs, the next it’s robots, and the next it’s animals or aliens. With How to Draw: Cool Stuff 2, I wanted to give kids a way to jump between themes and draw cool stuff without needing a whole shelf of books (though I’m always happy when they do want the whole shelf!).
The characters in this book are pulled from several of my series, including:
- Cute Cartoon Animals
- Baby Robots
- Cartoon Dinosaurs
- Silly and Grumpy Faces
- Crusty Goobers
- Sea Creatures
- and more!
This means you’re getting a best-of collection filled with variety and personality. And since all of my art is 100% hand-drawn by me (no AI, no templates, no shortcuts), every page feels original and made with care.
Part of a Growing Series of Art Books for Kids
How to Draw: Cool Stuff 2 is part of my Art Books for Kids series, which has now grown to over 75 titles. It all started with a single book and a simple idea: to make drawing approachable, fun, and accessible for kids. Since then, the series has expanded to include step-by-step drawing books, tracing and coloring books (Trace Then Color), and grid-based drawing books (Draw by Grid).
Each book in the series is designed with kids ages 6–12 in mind. I focus on easy-to-follow steps, playful character design, and themes that kids love. Whether they want to draw baby animals, goofy monsters, cute food, or alien cyborgs, there’s a book in the series that will help them draw cool stuff and build their confidence as young artists.

What Makes This Book Different
There are lots of how-to-draw books out there, but I take a slightly different approach. All of the characters in Cool Stuff 2 are designed to feel like they belong in the same playful universe. The proportions are exaggerated, the expressions are over-the-top, and the steps are made to feel natural. I want kids to finish a drawing and feel like they created something truly fun.
Another thing that sets my books apart: I draw everything myself. There’s no AI-generated art or recycled clipart here. Just me, a pencil, and a sketchbook. Every single drawing starts as a rough sketch, then gets cleaned up, tested, and refined until it’s something I know kids will have fun with.
